Welcome to my blog! I hope this post helps you to get to know me and better understand how I got here. It's crazy to think I am getting ready to leave my family, friends, amazing job and all the comforts of home for 11 months.

My name is Lauren and as I write this I am finishing up my first year teaching second grade. While starting my teaching career during a global pandemic wasn't optimum, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. So it came as a bit of a surprise, to even me, that I would be so ready and willing to leave teaching for the time being to answer this call placed on my heart.

I didn't go looking for this but when I found it (or maybe when it found me) there was no question, I absolutely had to pursue it. The peace I felt in making this somewhat unconventional decision is hard to explain, but i guess that's faith. It also helps to have been met with overwhelming support from family and friends.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the World Race, let me introduce you! Starting this August (2021) I will be traveling across Central America, South America and Southeast Asia to do mission work. With a team of five and a squad of about thirty I will spend approximately one month serving in a country before moving on to the next. I will be living and doing every day life with my team and traveling from country to country with my squad. The work we will be doing depends on the current needs in each specific country.

I am so excited to serve god and grow deeper in my faith on this immersive year of service.

I can't wait to take you on this journey with me.

Your support means so much!

Lauren
